Don’t give Mountain Valley Pipeline another pass to pollute!
From Appalachian Voices, Ridge Graham, Coordinator, July 10, 2022
It’s not too late to stop the fracked-gas Mountain Valley Pipeline — an unnecessary fossil fuel infrastructure project that would cut a 303-mile swath over steep slopes in the Blue Ridge Mountains, across treasured public lands and wildlife habitat, and through countless family farms.
The MVP is years behind schedule, billions of dollars over budget and missing multiple federal authorizations. Simply put, it is a boondoggle that’s headed nowhere, yet MVP wants a four-year extension from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to continue harming Appalachian communities and the environment.
FERC needs to hear from you! Tell FERC that Mountain Valley Pipeline does not deserve a four-year pass to continue hurting the environment, endangered species, public lands, waterways and Appalachian communities
Join with others across the nation to ask FERC to deny MVP’s certificate extension! Act now! The comment period has been extended to July 29th.

The Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) is seeking a 4-year extension to its FERC certification. The pipeline is already 4 years behind schedule and $3 billion over budget. Again and again, courts have sided with environmental interests and invalidated key permits and certifications for the project related to endangered species and water quality.
Now, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is reviewing a request by the MVP to extend the timeline for project completion by 4 years. This is their second extension request.
