Buffalo Township has postponed the approval of a conditional use permit for the construction of a compressor station that would occupy 44 acres. MarkWest Liberty Midstream and Resources LLc, the natural gas producer which applied for the permit, believes the township is overstepping its authority by demanding pollution monitoring beyond what is required by state and federal agencies, per Jeff Bare, MarkWest project manager.
